Loeews ignoble profiteering: Loews, Loew, Loewest

Progress report: Loews filed for bankruptcy protection in 2001 and in 2005 was purchased outright by AMC Entertainment, which I've noticed shows considerably fewer advertising before films.

Loews management: The excess of advertising and preview promotion I witnessed this evening at your 19th Street, Manhattan, Cineplex will keep me away from your theaters for the foreseeable future. Fifteen minutes of a captive audience may seem like a marketing fantasy to you, but I can assure you it is a waste of my time.

Having garnered most of the theaters in New York, you may feel that anything goes - whatever the market supports is what you will subject people to. Nevertheless, I would like you to know that, although I can't get back the $8.75 I paid to sit through that drivel, I will not be giving you my money in the future. Nor will I look favorably on any product that says Sony on it.

This letter, furthermore, will be on my web site, so that other people who happen to be searching for any odd combination of words in one of the various search engines on the internet may happen to read about my dissatisfaction. In fact, I intend to produce a boycott the monopolization of the theater business, and the gross advertising that is becoming common thanks to companies such as yours. So, I would estimate that many people other than yourselves will learn about the issues I present to you here.

Don't bother to send me free tickets, as they will not be needed. That is, unless you change your ways. It could actually be profitable you know.

Sincerely,
Andrew C. XXX
