OverviewThe expansion of corporatism, cybernetic systems, and bureaucratic systems of vast scale and complexity have led many artists to incorporate analysis and metaphorical allusions to this systemicity in their work. An offshoot of Duchampian conceptual thought, as opposed to the retinal visuality of much that preceded his work, the uses of systems are in some cases hopeless and obsessive, and at others intended as part of an institutional critique.ResourcesNorbert Wiener.
