| Ad Infinitum (1994) reflects visual experience in the
United States. The images stem from wrappers, cups,
flyers, and other detritus found on my walks to work. It is no
accident that the placement of this trash on a video monitor calls
to mind commericial television. The film is structured by a
progression (regression?) of techniques, marking time with eye
candy, fluid transformations, and the reduction of all symbolic
expression to promotion. The film's production coincided with
Republican movements in Congress to abolish government support for
the arts and public broadcasting.
