Accessing control points

You can double click a vertex to collapse or open its control points.

In the above examples, the pen tool was used and the mouse was double clicked on the top vertex.

Save your work

It is recommended that you save your work periodically if you are interested in the finished product. Once you have done so, you will be able to restore your work in progress (File-->Revert to saved). If something unexpected occurs, like a browser malfunction, you are less likely to lose work.

Manipulating shapes

Items produced with the rectangle tool and the oval tool can be adjusted using their control points. Each vertex can also be manipulated using the pen tool. However, once you have used the pen tool to modify the shape, it will not be possible to continue using the oval and rectangle tools to make further adjustments. Instead, the item becomes a generic shape and must be changed using the Pen tool and Move tool, which also can be used to resize shapes.

Image upload

Before you can add bitmap images to your documents you need to upload graphics to the server. It is strongly recommended that you use light-weight graphics rather than using high resolution images. This will help others to download the images you produce. To upload images, use the File menu.

After uploading an image, choosing the Image fill type will prompt you to select which image you want to show inside the current selection. If your selection already has an image fill, but you want to choose a different image, reselect the radio button for Image in the Fill style area. This will cause the file selection dialog box to open again.

Shapes and text can be filled with an image. At this time it is not possible to adjust the position of the image with your shape, so you may wish to crop the images before you upload them. In a future version there may be a way to avoid this problem.

Optimal equipment

Support for smooth scrolling in browser windows containing large Java applets is very poor. Consequently, it is recommended that you use a computer with a large monitor so that you won't need to scroll.
